Craigdarroch Castle

One of the landmark tourist attractions in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada is the Craigdarroch Castle [pronounced “Craig Derek”].

It is located in the beautiful Rockland neighborhood of Victoria.

Built in the 1890s by the wealthy coal baron, Robert Dunsmuir and his wife Joan, the castle has 39 rooms and is over 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2 ).

Today it is owned by the Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society and is open to the public as a National Historic Cite of Canada.
